Family relationships

EHD (EH domain-containing protein) family is a group of endocytic recycling proteins that interact with ferlin proteins and mediate the cytoskeletal rearrangements necessary for proper membrane recycling and myoblast fusion [PMID: 21177873]. Members in EHD family includes EHD1/2/3/4 [PMID: 21177873].

EHD1 localises to recycling endosomes and promotes membrane trafficking of various receptors [PMID: 23572513]. EHD3 resides in tubular and vesicular membrane structures and participates in endocytic recycling and early endosome transport [PMID: 12121420, PMID: 16251358]. It may function as a tumour suppressor [PMID: 24306026].
