Family relationships

Growth arrest-specific protein 2 (GAS2) belongs to the GAS2 family, whose members mediate the crosstalk between filamentous actin (F-actin) and microtubules. GAS2 regulates multiple cellular functions including cell cycle, apoptosis and calpain activities [PMID: 10049561, PMID: 24465953]. It is up-regulated in chronic myeloid leukemia cells and required for their growth [PMID: 24465953].
