Description

L-rhamnose is a saccharide required for the virulence of some bacteria. Its precursor, dTDP-L-rhamnose, is synthesised by four different enzymes. RmlD catalyses the final step of the dTDP-L-rhamnose synthesis. This entry represents the RmlD substrate binding domain, which is responsible for binding a sugar nucleotide [PMID: 12057193, PMID: 10802738].
