Short name: CCNF_metazoan

Family relationships

  • Cyclin (IPR039361)
    • Cyclin-F, metazoan (IPR028857)

Cyclin-F contains a cyclin box domain and oscillates during the cell cycle, but does not bind or activate any cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) [PMID: 20596027]. In humans, cyclin-F forms an active SCF ubiquitin ligase complex, which leads to the degradation of a centrosome duplication protein, CP110 [PMID: 20596027]. The degradation of CP110 is required for the fidelity of mitosis and genome integrity [PMID: 20596027].

This entry represents the metazoan cyclin-F family, but does not include cyclin-F from plants.
