Family relationships

Cyclin-dependent kinase 6 (CDK6) is a D-Cyclin-activated kinase that is involved in driving the cell cycle through inactivation of pRB in G1 phase [PMID: 8114739, PMID: 24196439]. It has been implicated in cell proliferation [PMID: 14985467] and tumor angiogenesis [PMID: 23948297]. It is also involved in cell differentiation through regulation of gene expression [PMID: 15254224]. CDK6 interacts with the p65 subunit of NFkB in the nucleus, and is found at promoters of many transcriptionally active NFkB target genes [PMID: 24389100].
