Lipoma-preferred partner (IPR028771)

Short name: LPP

Family relationships

Lipoma-preferred partner (LPP) protein localises to the cell periphery in focal adhesions and may play a structural role at sites of cell adhesion in maintaining cell shape and motility [PMID: 15649318]. It may be involved in signal transduction from cell adhesion sites to the nucleus allowing successful integration of signals arising from soluble factors and cell-cell adhesion sites [PMID: 10637295]. A chromosomal aberration involving LPP has been associated with several cancers [PMID: 11433529].
