Phospholipid phosphatase 4 (IPR028668)

Short name: PLPP4

Overlapping homologous superfamilies

Family relationships

Phospholipid phosphatase 4 (PLPP4, also known as DPPL2) and DPPL1 are novel mammalian phosphatidate phosphatases that show greater homology to yeast diacylglycerol pyrophosphate phosphatase DPP1 than to known phosphatidate phosphatases of mammals. These enzymes catalyse the conversion of phosphatidic acid to diacylglycerol and display magnesium-independent phosphatidate phosphatase activity in vitro [PMID: 17590538].
