Description

Members of the ING family of tumor suppressors regulate cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and DNA repair as important cofactors of p53. INGs (inhibitor of growth proteins) are found in yeast, animals and plants. This entry represents ING2 from plants. Arabidopsis INGs, ING1 (At3g24010) and ING2 (At1g54390) are involved in chromatin regulation by binding to histone H3 tri- and dimethylated at lysine (4H3K4me3/2), the active histone markers [PMID: 19154204].
