Short name: CIP4

Family relationships

Cdc42-interacting protein 4 (CIP4) belongs to the F-BAR family, whose members have been implicated in cell membrane processes such as membrane invagination, tubulation and endocytosis [PMID: 23384583]. Its BAR domain senses and generates membrane curvature through interaction with membrane phospholipids [PMID: 19379681], while its C-terminal SH3 (SRC homology 3) domain binds to WASP (Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome Protein) and thus promotes actin cytoskeletal reorganisation [PMID: 23881916]. It regulates membrane deformation and tubulation, actin cytoskeleton organisation, endocytosis, and vesicle trafficking [PMID: 23915320, PMID: 20805498, PMID: 19920150].
