Coronin 1C (IPR027333)

Short name: CORO1C

Family relationships

  • Coronin (IPR015505)
    • Coronin 1C (IPR027333)

Coronins belongs to the WD40-repeat family, which contains the WD40 motifs that act as the protein-protein interaction sites. There are several isoforms of Coronin in mammalian cells [PMID: 10461187].

This entry represents Coronin 1C (also knowns Coronin 3). Coronin 1C contains two actin-binding sites that bind to actin filaments [PMID: 22364218]. It may be involved in cytokinesis, motility, and signal transduction. Expression of Coronin 1C has been linked to tumour malignancy in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and glioblastoma cells [PMID: 23292607, PMID: 18189330].
