Family

Calumenin (IPR027239)

Short name: Calumenin

Family relationships

None.

Description

Calumenin is a multiple EF-hand calcium ion binding protein located in endo/sarcoplasmic reticulum of mammalian tissues. It is involved in regulation of vitamin K-dependent carboxylation of multiple N-terminal glutamate residues [PMID: 16527250, PMID: 15075329]. In mammals, it is expressed highly in heart and might play an important role in calcium ion homeostasis [PMID: 20356454].
