Transcriptional activator NFYC/HAP5 subunit (IPR027170)

Short name: NFYC/HAP5_su

Family relationships

None.

Description

NFYC/HAP5 is a subunit of the HAP complex that recognises and binds the CCAAT motif in promoters [PMID: 7828851], which stimulates the transcription of various genes [PMID: 12401788]. In mammals and plants, HAP complex includes three subunits: NF-YA (CBF-B or HAP2), NF-YB (CBF-A or HAP3), and NF-YC (CBF-C or HAP5) [PMID: 10571030]. In budding yeast, HAP complex is composed of four subunits: HAP2, HAP3, HAP4, and HAP5 [PMID: 16278450].
