Family

T-complex protein 10 family (IPR026581)

Short name: TCP10_fam

Family relationships

Description

Proteins in this family include T-complex protein 10 and centromere protein J, which not only inhibits microtubule nucleation from the centrosome, but also depolymerises taxol-stabilised microtubules [PMID: 15047868, PMID: 17681131, PMID: 20531387]. T-complex is involved in spermatogenesis in mice [PMID: 12068715]. T-complex protein 10A homologue 2 (also known as TCP10L) may be involved in transcriptional regulation and has in vitro transcription inhibition activity [PMID: 14586771]. It acts as a tumour suppressor in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells [PMID: 24565846].
