G protein pathway suppressor 2 (IPR026094)

Short name: GPS2

Family relationships

None.

Description

G protein pathway suppressor 2 is involved in G protein-mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling cascades. When overexpressed in mammalian cells, this protein could potently suppress a RAS- and MAPK-mediated signal and interfere with JNK activity, suggesting that the function of this protein may be signal repression [PMID: 8943324]. This protein is a component of the N-CoR-HDAC3 [PMID: 11931768] and also the SMRT corepressor complexes [PMID: 19858209].
