Domain

Sulphate adenylyltransferase catalytic domain (IPR024951)

Short name: Sulfurylase_cat_dom

Domain relationships

Description

This domain is the catalytic domain of ATP-sulfurylase or sulphate adenylyltransferase (EC:2.7.7.4). ATP-sulfurylase catalyses the synthesis of adenosine-phosphosulphate (APS) from ATP and inorganic sulphate [PMID: 9671738]. Sometimes is found as part of a bifunctional polypeptide chain associated with adenylylsulphate kinase (IPR002891). Both enzymes are required for PAPS (phosphoadenosine-phosphosulphate) synthesis from inorganic sulphate [PMID: 8522184].
