Bifunctional cytochrome P450/NADPH--cytochrome P450 reductase (IPR023206)

Short name: Bifunctional_P450_P450_red

Family relationships

  • Flavodoxin-like (IPR001094)
    • Bifunctional cytochrome P450/NADPH--cytochrome P450 reductase (IPR023206)

Description

Bifunctional cytochrome P450/NADPH--cytochrome P450 reductase (also known as P450foxy) is a fused protein of cytochrome P450 and its reductase [PMID: 11985584]. It is a fatty acid (FA) monooxygenase that is characterised by self-sufficient catalysis and high turnover numbers due to the fused structure [PMID: 18512058]. Its reductase domain is required for electron transfer from NADP to cytochrome P450 [PMID: 8830036].
