Domain

Tubulin-specific chaperone D, C-terminal (IPR022577)

Short name: Tubulin_specific_chaperoneD_C

Domain relationships

None.

Description

This region is found in eukaryotes, and is typically between 182 and 199 amino acids in length. There is a single completely conserved residue R that may be functionally important. Tubulin folding cofactor D does not co-polymerise with microtubules either in vivo or in vitro, but instead modulates microtubule dynamics by sequestering beta-tubulin from GTP-bound alphabeta-heterodimers in microtubules [PMID: 10722852].
