Domain

Flagellin lysine-N-methylase, C-terminal (IPR020193)

Short name: Flagellin_lys-N-methylase_C

Domain relationships

None.

Description

This entry represents the C-terminal domain of a lysine-N-methylase that is responsible for postranslational modification of flagellin. This lysine-N-methylase from Salmonella post-translationally modifies flagellin by methylating the epsilon amino group of surface-exposed lysine residues. This methylation is required for the secretion of flagellin and expression of motility [PMID: 16513753].
