C2H2-type Zinc finger protein, YY-1-like (IPR017114)

Short name: YY-1-like

Family relationships

This entry represents a group of C2H2-type Zinc finger proteins, including a transcription factor yin and yang 1 (YY1). YY1 has been shown to regulate cell proliferation and differentiation, and its deficiency in mice results in peri-implantation lethality during embryonic development. It has also been linked to cancers [PMID: 21326896].

Proteins in this entry also include YY2, XlCOF22 and other related Zinc finger proteins. YY2 may antagonize YY1 and function in development and differentiation [PMID: 16260628].
