Short name: PM/HMP-P_kinase-1

Domain relationships

Description

Enzymes in this family belong to the ribokinase superfamily. Pyridoxamine kinase EC:2.7.1.35 phosphorylates B6 vitamers and functions in a salvage pathway [PMID: 9537380, PMID: 15547280]. Phosphomethylpyrimidine kinase EC:2.7.4.7 is part of the thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP) synthesis pathway. TPP is an essential cofactor for many enzymes [PMID: 9244280].
