Protein KTI12/L-seryl-tRNA(Sec) kinase (IPR013641)

Short name: KTI12/PSTK

Family relationships

Protein KTI12 is a chromatin associated protein that interacts with the Elongator complex, a component of the elongating form of RNA polymerase II [PMID: 15772087]. The Elongator complex has histone acetyltransferase activity.

L-seryl-tRNA(Sec) kinase (PSTK) specifically phosphorylates seryl-tRNA(Sec) to O-phosphoseryl-tRNA(Sec), an activated intermediate for selenocysteine biosynthesis [PMID: 15317934].
