Sperm surface protein Sp17 (IPR012105)

Short name: Sp17

Family relationships

Sp17 was originally proposed to be a sperm-specific protein that plays a role in sperm-egg interactions by binding to the zona pellucida via two conserved heparin-binding motifs [PMID: 7525387]. Later, it was found expressed in other tissues and may have a regulatory role in an A-kinase anchoring protein complex [PMID: 12530914, PMID: 19604394].
