Triadin (IPR010798)

Short name: Triadin

Overlapping homologous superfamilies

Family relationships

Triadin was first identified from rabbit skeletal muscle sarcoplasmic reticulum as an abundant single transmembrane protein [PMID: 1649631]. It binds to ryanodine receptor and calsequestrin in a Ca2+-dependent manner [PMID: 11707337]. Later, several triadin isoforms produced by the alternative splicing of a single TRDN gene were identified [PMID: 22422768, PMID: 25260634]. These isoforms have different localisations and binding partners [PMID: 19403623].
