Family

Uridine phosphorylase, eukaryotic (IPR010059)

Short name: Uridine_phosphorylase_euk

Family relationships

Description

This entry represents a clade of mainly eukaryotic uridine phosphorylases. Genes from human [PMID: 7488099] and mouse [PMID: 7744869] have been characterised. This enzyme is a member of the PHP/UDP subfamily and is closely related to the bacterial uridine (IPR010058) and inosine (IPR004402) phosphorylase equivalogs. In addition to the eukaryotes, a gene from Mycobacterium leprae is included in this equivalog and may have resulted from lateral gene transfer.
