Neural chondroitin sulphate proteoglycan cytoplasmic (IPR009505)

Short name: Neural_ProG_Cyt

Domain relationships

This entry represents the C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of vertebrate neural chondroitin sulphate proteoglycans that contain EGF modules. Evidence has been accumulated to support the idea that neural proteoglycans are involved in various cellular events including mitogenesis, differentiation, axonal outgrowth and synaptogenesis [PMID: 9321696]. This domain contains a number of potential sites of phosphorylation by protein kinase C [PMID: 9950058].
