Cor1/Xlr/Xmr family (IPR006888)

Short name: Cor1/Xlr/Xmr

Family relationships

Cor1 is a component of the chromosome core in the meiotic prophase chromosomes [PMID: 7876343]. Xlr is a lymphoid cell specific protein [PMID: 7821804]. Xmr is abundantly transcribed in testis in a tissue-specific and developmentally regulated manner. The protein is located in the nuclei of spermatocytes, early in the prophase of the first meiotic division, and later becomes concentrated in the XY nuclear subregion where it is in particular associated with the axes of sex chromosomes [PMID: 8306953].
