Family

FaeA-like protein (IPR006793)

Short name: FaeA

Family relationships

None.

Description

This family represents a number of fimbrial protein transcription regulators found in Gram-negative bacteria. These proteins are thought to facilitate binding of the leucine-rich regulatory protein to regulatory elements, possibly by inhibiting deoxyadenosine methylation of these elements by deoxyadenosine methylase [PMID: 7476191, PMID: 8846772].
