Description

D-amino acid aminotransferase (EC:2.6.1.21) catalyzes transamination between various D-amino acids and alpha-keto acids. This enzyme is a homodimer. The pyridoxal phosphate attachment site is a Lys in the motif Cys-Asp-Ile-Lys-Ser-Leu-Asn. Specificity is broad for various D-amino acids, and differs among members of the family [PMID: 2914916].
