Herpesvirus glycoprotein N (IPR005211)

Short name: Herpes_glycoprotein_N

Family relationships

This entry represents a conserved region found in a number of viral proteins: BLRF1, U46, 53, and UL73, collectively known as glycoprotein N. These UL73-like envelope glycoproteins, which associate in a high molecular mass complex with their counterpart protein gM, induce neutralizing antibody responses in the host. These glycoproteins are highly polymorphic, particularly in the N-terminal region [PMID: 11602789].
