Phospholipase C, variant-surface-glycoprotein (IPR003633)

Short name: PLipase_C_var-glycoprot

Domain relationships

Variant-surface-glycoprotein phospholipase C, by hydrolysis of the attached glycolipid, releases soluble variant surface glycoprotein containing phosphoinositol from the cell wall after lysis. It catalyses the conversion of variant-surface-glycoprotein 1,2 didecanoyl-SN-phosphatidylinositol and water to 1,2-didecanoylglycerol and the soluble variant-surface-glycoprotein. It also cleaves similar membrane anchors on some mammalian proteins.
