Transmembrane protein TauE-like (IPR002781)

Short name: TM_pro_TauE-like

Family relationships

This is a family of integral membrane proteins containing transmembrane helices. This family used to be known as DUF81.

The TauE proteins are involved in the transport of anions across the cytoplasmic membrane [PMID: 17768248, PMID: 22797525] during taurine metabolism as an exporter of sulfoacetate [PMID: 18506422].
