This entry contains proteins from archaea, bacteria to eukaryotes. The molecular function of these proteins are unclear.

However, a human protein, Memo 1 (mediator of ErbB2-driven cell motility 1) is included in this family [PMID: 15156151]. Memo 1 is an effector of the ErbB2 receptor tyrosine kinase involved in breast carcinoma cell migration. It binds to a phosphorylated tyrosine encompassing peptide of ErbB2 [PMID: 18045866]. It regulates the localisation of the small G protein RhoA and its effector mDia1 at the plasma membrane, and thereby coordinates the organisation of the lamellipodial actin network, adhesion site formation, and MT outgrowth within the cell leading edge to sustain cell motility [PMID: 18955552].

In budding yeast, it is also named as Mho1. It inhibits haploid invasive growth when overexpressed [PMID: 22412880].
