Family

Prolipoprotein diacylglyceryl transferase (IPR001640)

Short name: Prolipoprot_diAcglycer_Trfase

Family relationships

None.

Description

Prolipoprotein diacylglyceryl transferase [PMID: 8051048] is the bacterial enzyme catalysing the first step in lipoprotein biogenesis. It transfers the n-acyl diglyceride group onto what will become the N-terminal cysteine of membrane lipoproteins. This enzyme is an integral membrane protein.
