Family

Decaprenyl diphosphate synthase-like (IPR001441)

Short name: UPP_synth-like

Family relationships

None.

Description

Di-trans-poly-cis-decaprenylcistransferase (EC:2.5.1.31) (UPP synthetase) generates undecaprenyl pyrophosphate (UPP) from isopentenyl pyrophosphate (IPP) [PMID: 9882662]. This bacterial enzyme is also found in archaebacteria and in a number of uncharacterised proteins including some from yeasts.

This entry also matches related enzymes that transfer alkyl groups, such as dehydrodolichyl diphosphate synthase.
