Glycoprotein phospholipase D (IPR001028)

Short name: Gprt_PLipase_D

Family relationships

Phosphatidylinositol-glycan-specific phospholipase D is an extracellular amphiphilic glycoprotein [PMID: 1606959, PMID: 2017684]. It hydrolyses the inositol phosphate linkage in proteins anchored by phosphatidylinositol glycans, releasing these proteins from the membrane. The enzyme catalyses the reaction: glycoprotein phosphatidylinositol + H2O = phosphatidate + glycoprotein inositol
