AbstractHelp

The enzyme is involved in biotin biosynthesis and catalyses the reaction (CO2 + 7,8-diaminononanoate + ATP = dethiobiotin + phosphate + ADP). The enzyme binds ATP and requires magnesium as a co-factor. The Thr residue at position seven of the seed alignment is necessary for the binding of ATP.
