IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature

Accepted name:
Na+-transporting two-sector ATPase
Other names:
ATP synthase
Na+-translocating ATPase
Na+-translocating F1Fo-ATPase
vacuolar-type Na+-ATPase
vacuolar-type Na+-translocating ATPase
ATP synthase, sodium ion specific
Systematic name:
ATP phosphohydrolase (Na+-transporting)

A multisubunit non-phosphorylated ATPase that is involved in the transport of ions. An enzyme found in alkaliphilic bacteria that is similar to EC (H+-transporting two-sector ATPase) where Na+ replaces H+.
