IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature
EC 3.5.1.81

Names

Accepted name:
N-acyl-D-amino-acid deacylase
Other name:
D-aminoacylase
Systematic name:
N-acyl-D-amino acid amidohydrolase

Reaction

Cofactor

Comments:

The enzyme from Alcaligenes denitrificans subsp. xylosoxydans and Alcaligenes xylosoxydans subsp. xylosoxydanshas wide specificity; hydrolyses N-acyl derivative of neutral D-amino acids. Used in separating D- and L-amino acids. Requires zinc.
