IntEnz Enzyme Nomenclature
EC 2.8.2.5

Names

Accepted name:
chondroitin 4-sulfotransferase
Other name:
chondroitin sulfotransferase
Systematic name:
3'-phosphoadenylyl-sulfate:chondroitin 4'-sulfotransferase

Reaction

Comments:

The sulfation takes place at the 4-position of N-acetyl-galactosamine residues of chondroitin. Not identical with EC 2.8.2.17 chondroitin 6-sulfotransferase.
