Methylates the C-terminal leucine of phosphatase 2A. A key regulator of protein phosphatase 2A. The methyl ester is hydrolysed by EC (protein phosphatase methylesterase-1). Occurs mainly in the cytoplasm, Golgi region and late endosomes.
