Comments:

The enzyme acts on androsterone and other 3α-hydroxysteroids and on 9-, 11- and 15-hydroxyprostaglandin. Si-specific with respect to NAD+ or NADP+. cf. EC 1.1.1.213, 3α-hydroxysteroid 3-dehydrogenase (Re-specific).
