The EBI Industry Programme

Advances in bioinformatics are having a major impact on industry. Our Industry Programme enables industry to adapt quickly to – and maximise the benefit from – these advances.

We have been supporting the needs of industry since 1996 by:

kick-starting research of importance to industry
providing expert training in specialist workshops targeted to the needs of our members
developing standards - for example in sequence analysis and genomic maps - that protect our partners from becoming locked into proprietary solutions
improving our resources and services in line with the needs of our partners
providing opportunities for members to work on-site in close collaboration with our staff
hosting strategy forums and networking opportunities on neutral ground.

EMBL-EBI's Industry Programme is driven by its partners for its partners. Our partners include major international pharmaceutical, health & well-being, and agri-food companies (see below).

Support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)

EMBL-EBI's SME Support Forum organises annual meetings on advances in bioinformatics. SME Forum members include bioinformatics service providers, drug discovery companies, platform technology companies and integration service providers.
