Joint Industry Programme Workshops
The Industry Programme organises high quality workshops and symposia, providing expert level presentations and strategic discussion opportunities for the Industry Programme members through focussed presentations and discussions.
Workshops are led by a scientific coordinator who may be a member of EMBL-EBI staff, a senior academic collaborator or a representative of one of the Industry Programme members. Workshops and Symposia typically include key opinion leaders and stakeholders from the research and industry communities.
The subject areas for the workshops are prioritised by the Industry Programme member companies. Workshops may be technically or standards focussed or as part of a more general pre-competitive initiative.
Recently we have covered, or plan to cover, the following topics in our workshops:
- Disease Ontologies and Information
- ChEBI Users Workshop
- Structural biology tools and services provided by the EBI
- The Druggable Genome
- Text Mining and Ontologies
- Computational Identification of Peptides
- Effective use of bioinformatics web services
- Therapeutic Applications of Computational Biology and Chemistry
- micro RNA Informatics

Details of forthcoming workshops are advertised to the industry partners in the restricted area of this website. If registration is not full for a particular workshop, places are made available to other commercial companies and academics. Availability of places is announced opposite in the Workshop news and can also be obtained from Holly Foster with details of cost.
These workshops are in addition to the EBI general programme of hands on training to which all industry programme members are given access:
