10 June 2009

Dear Colleagues and Associates,

We would like to invite you to attend a workshop hosted by the European Bioinformatics Institute. The workshop is focussed on genotype resources and the challenges of translating from genotypes to phenotypes and comparison between phenotypes.

The first day is an open meeting with presentations from key opinion leaders and representative of major institutes and initiatives. The presentations will cover genotypic data, genotype databases and comparison with and between phenotypes.

Organisers, sponsors and contacts:

The workshop coordinators are:

  • Paul Flicek (Team Leader Vertebrate Genomics and Coordinator of the European Genotype Archive project)
  • Helen Parkinson (ArrayExpress Production Coordinator)
  • Dominic Clark (EBI Industry Programme Coordinator),

We are grateful to the following for input to the development of the workshop programme:

  • Thomas Grombacher (Merck-Serono),
  • Mike Barnes (GSK),
  • Matt Mailman (Eli Lilly)

This workshop is organised and funded in part through the EBI Industry programme with additional financial support from the ELIXIR Project and specifically ELIXIR WP13.5 European Genotype Archive technical feasibility study (led by Paul Flicek).
