Allele Query Help Page

The following tables detail the output of the `Allele Query Tool' which can be used to request information about a specific HLA sequence. The database stores information on every official WHO HLA Nomenclature Committee Allele and provides the details on specific alleles previously found in the "Nomenclature for factors of the HLA system" updates published in Tissue Antigens, Human Immunology and the European Journal of Immunogenetics.

HLA Dictionary Data
Pre-2010 designation:	Name used for the allele prior to the 2010 Nomenclature Report	Previous and Local Names:	Any other names used for the sequence, i.e. previous and local names.
IMGT/HLA No.	Official IMGT/HLA Accession number, linked to SRS Flat File entry.	Class:	The class of the sequence, I or II
Assigned:	Date the name was assigned	Last Modified:	Date the sequence was last modified
Component Entries:	Component EMBL/GenBank/DDBJ entries for the allele.
Cell Sequence Derived From:	A list of cells or individuals from which the sequence was derived. The entry name links directly to the standard cell output form.
Known Ethnic Origin Of Cells:	This field list the ethnic origin of the cells which have been sequenced for this allele. The allele may be present in other ethnic groups that have not been sequenced or present in cells in which the ethnic origin was unknown. This information provides a possible origin for the allele.
References:	Reference to literature on the sequence or component sequences used. Details the author, journal, volume and year of publication, also provides link to PubMed entry.
Sequence Status:	Details whether a complete or partial sequence is available.	Confirmed:	Date the sequence was last aligned indicates whether the sequence has been confirmed by other groups.
Cells:	The number of cells which have been sequenced for this allele	Laboratories:	Number of labs that have submitted this allele to the database.
Expert Assigned Type:	This summarises the author's view on the most probable serologic equivalent for the alleles, which may differ from the WHO HLA assigned type.	WHO Assigned Type:	This details the serologic equivalents that are presented in the regular updates of the WHO nomenclature report.
