Downloading taxonomy data

Taxonomy information is available through the ENA Browser using REST URLs. Download of taxonomy data is also supported through FTP.

The taxonomy data formats, including detailed information about Darwin Core, are described here.

Downloading taxonomy data via FTP

Taxonomy data is available for bulk download through FTP at ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/ena/taxonomy/.

taxonomy.xml.gz Full release of the taxonomy data in ENA taxonomy format.
sdwca Full release of taxonomy data in Darwin Core Archive format.
