Submit data to ENA

The European Nucleotide Archive (ENA) operates as a public archive for nucleotide sequence data including raw sequence reads, assembly information and functional annotation. Data submitted to the ENA can be kept private until the associated work has been published. ENA will assign permanent accession numbers to all submitted data. These should be cited in all papers using the data as part of the analysis. Once public, all submitted data will be exchanged with the NCBI and DDBJ as part of the INSDC data exchange agreement.

To submit to ENA please follow the links below. Next-generation sequencing reads are submitted into the Sequence Read Archive (SRA) while assembled and annoted sequences are submitted into the EMBL-Bank.

Further information on ENA policies is available here.

Further information about EMBL-EBI data repository organisation for array and sequencing platforms is available here.

Submit into the EMBL-Bank

Assembled and annotated nucleotide sequences are submitted into the EMBL-Bank ... more information.

We have introduced a central login system as a starting point for all EMBL-Bank submissions:

Submit into the Sequence Read Archive (SRA)

Raw sequence data generated by next-generation sequencing platforms such as 454, Illumina Genome Analyzer/HiSeq and ABI SOLiD are submitted into the Sequence Read Archive (SRA) ... more information.

We have introduced a new interactive SRA submission service:

It is necessary to register as a SRA submitter by contacting datasubs@ebi.ac.uk before using this service.
