Genome Assembly Submissions

The genome assembly submission steps described on these pages are under rapid ongoing development, so changes will be posted frequently. The most recent change has been made on 7.8.13.

A genome assembly can comprise a number of layers of information that need to be provided – reads, contigs, scaffolds and chromosomes* – and at the end of the submission process, there will be in place the following 4 components:

1. Study details

2. Raw read data (recommended)

3. At least one of the following:

     a. Contig data

     b. Scaffold data

     c. Chromosome* data

4. Assembly description

* Please note: under “chromosome” we include here organelle (e.g. mitochondrion and chloroplast) and plasmid sequences.

In order to submit, you need:

- to have a submission account (submission account creation

- be aware of the allowed options when you need to prepare feature tables (Feature Table Preparation)

- if you plan to submit an AGP file or when the submission route indicates the use of a Webin box, you also need to be familiar with uploading into and organising your Webin box (Using webin box).
