General Comments
2011-01-31 Phytochelatins are biosynthesised by glutathione γ-glutamylcysteinyltransferase and are found in many plants, yeasts, and algae including cyanobacteria. They act as chelators, and are important for heavy metal detoxification.
2011-01-31 The value of n has been reported as being as high as 11, but is generally in the range of 2 to 5 (see PMID:10889232)
