CC   The organization of the BLV genome is as follows:  5' LTR - gag -
CC   pol - env - pX-BL - 3' LTR, where pX-BL is a region containing
CC   several open reading frames.
CC   [1] suggests, based on the pattern of conservation in the pol
CC   region, that BLV and human T-cell leukemia virus (HTLV) constitute
CC   a separate group, designated type E, of Oncovirinae. The initiation
CC   of translation of the pol reading frame is undetermined.  A
CC   potential splice acceptor (at 4391-4401) for the env mRNA is
CC   identified by similarity to the consensus sequence.
